Hello Researchers, My name is Judi Williams. I've been researching my African-American 'Rankin' line for the past 5 years. I've run into many brick walls and have managed to knock some of them down. I joined this list because I am currently researching/searching relatives who lived in Tacoma-Pierce. My Grand-Uncle's name was Perry Eugene Rankin b. May 29, 1910 and died there in Tacoma in October of 1966. His Wife's name was Beula Rankin who was born in New Jersey on Jan. 14, 1913 and died in Tacoma in June of 1975. I was able to locate Perry Rankin's obituary from the Library there in Tacoma however I, so far, have not located Beulah's obituary. Perry and Beulah adopted three children whose names are Michael, Zontia (pronounced Zon-tee-ah) and another son whose name I don't know. I, myself have never met my Grand-Uncle and his family and have never been to the west coast at all. Perry's sister is now age 95 and is the last person from the east coast, as far as I know, who had contact with the entire family there since Beulah died in 1975. My quest now is to locate Perry and Beulah's children who should be in their mid to late 40's. I believe they may have been cared for by someone in Beulah's family however I am only speculating. I do know that Perry owned two houses in Tacoma when he died and that they were sold after his death. If you have any information regarding possible whereabout of Perry and Beulah's children or can point me in a direction, I would truly and sincerely appreciate it and possibly, I may be able to knock down another brick wall and finally meet my cousins. If more information is required, just ask me and I'll be happy to share what I have. Thank you,
