    3. Hi, I sent this information to Cindi Howells who suggested I pass it on to this mailing list. Several years ago I began collecting information on all residents of Sumner and the immediate area who lived here as of 1910 or prior to that year. I believe I picked 1910 because I had obtained a city directory for that year which gave me a base. I then researched all local publications from 1889 to about 1975 . I had, by then, scrap booked photocopies of every article and obituary of any historical significance either subjectively or alphabetically if on an individual or family. I have approximately 2000 pages in these scrap books. In addition to this I also collected a smaller history of the Sumner Fire Department and one on the Valley Daffodil Festival with respect to Sumner from the celebration's inception in 1926 at Mrs. Charles Orton's tea party on. No.......it didn't start in Tacoma. Sorry. I have indexed the Sumner historical / biographical (genealogical?) collection both subjectively and by the names of the people who resided here. I am currently seeking an avenue to recopy this material since it is scrap booked with rubber cement and takes up a greater bulk than necessary. Upon completion I intend to provide a full copy to the Sumner Public Library, the Heritage Quest Library in Sumner and, perhaps, the Sumner Historical Society. If anyone in this e-mail group is interested in information that may be in this material you may contact me at: gblowe@foxinternet.net I will try to provide you with as much information as I can on your subject or name. Thanks and I hope I can be of assistance to someone. George Lowe gblowe@foxinternet.net
