    1. Wolf in Washington
    2. Greetings! I am searching for information on a great uncle who moved to Washington State and contact was subsequently lost. Fritz Rudolph Wolf b. 8 Jan 1891 Bell County, TX d. ? Son of William (Wilhelm) Wolf (1844-1938) and Louise Margarethe Barbe Wolf (1858-1891) who emigrated from Germany circa 1883. Louise died less than a month after his birth. Family tradition has it that he worked for the railroad and my own mother remembers my gr-grandmother and her sisters getting letters from him during or slightly after WWII from Walla Walla, WA. A letter from his wife in the late 1940's is written from Tacoma where she (Martha) refers to him as Ralph. [This may be his version of an Americanization of his name due to the anti- German sentiment of the decade. His younger brothers did the same.] She indicates a daughter, Margaret, and a son, James. Per the letter, Margaret is said to be married and living in the area with her husband, and they own a family paper business. James is said to be living in Sacramento, CA, and is the father of a five-yr-old son. Other family tradition indicates that Margaret could have been born about 1915-1917. As I am in Texas, my ability to physically search is limited. I've tried the SSDeath Index, what WA census rolls I can scrounge up. He is not listed with the rest of his family in TX in 1920, but if he is railroad, he could be anywhere from TX to WA. Any information or leads is greatly appreciated!! This is the only one of the 11 children we can't account for. Thank you!! Stacy Stacy Flood flood689@aol.com
