    3. Hello all - I put a new web page on the TPCGS site today: http://www.rootsweb.com/~watpcgs/nancy.htm The Tacoma-Pierce County Genealogical Society is very proud of our own Nancy Peterson. Nancy is the hard-working editor of the Society's quarterly, The Researcher. Beyond her fine work as editor of The Researcher, Nancy has won the National Genealogical Society's prestigious Family History Writing Contest. She is the twelfth winner of the contest with her essay, "Buried Pasts: George and Clara (Baldwin) Bomford." Her work is the result of over eight years of research on the Bomford family. According to the mention in the May/June 1998 issue of the NGS Newsletter, one contest judge declared Nancy's essay to be, "The most interesting genealogy I've ever read." The Family History Writing Contest is an annual competition which receives entries from around the nation. The writing is judged on the writer's research skills and on their ability to analyze and utilize a wide variety of original source documents. Strict documentation and format requirements must be followed in this scholarly competition. Nancy was honored for her achievement at the NGS annual conference in Denver in May of 1998. Nancy's winning Family History will be published in an upcoming edition of the NGS Quarterly. In addition, Nancy has published an article on the role that Providential guidance played in the research which lead to the writing of her award-winning Family History. This article appeared on the front page of the September/October 1998 edition of the NGS Newsletter. >From everyone at the Tacoma-Pierce County Genealogical Society: "Congratulations Nancy and well done!!!!"
