Born 22 Feb 1854 Married 27 Oct 1878 in Kirksville, Adair County, MO to Mary Abby MILLER Died 7 Dec 1921 in Kelso, Cowlitz County, WA The "story" that was told is that he father died in a stage robbery before William was born in 1854. His mother (I don't even have her name) worked in the SEATON household for several years and then she married a Mr. DICKY (or DICKEY or DICKIE) and they moved to Quincy, Adams County, Illinois. Either the step-father & mother & William Lenore COLWELL moved on to Ohio and William finally came to Kirksville, Adair County, MO in 1866 when he was 22 years of age. I have tried to get any info for many years! Any help would be appreciated. This has been my road-block for at least 25 years! If you have the IL or OH CD-ROM for 1860, perhaps you could see if William Lenore COLWELL or a Mr. DICKIE, DICKY, or DICKEY is listed!!
