Thank you, CC, for being our eye and ear man at the courthouse. I, for one, really appreciate this report. The stones in the fake cemetery at the Pioneer Village or Snohomish Pioneer Village (?) number between 11 and 13, I just counted from the photo. The Thompson stone and the broken stones in the "Village" still number less than 20. I counted bases that don't show clearly so I could be off a couple. If the cemetery was cleaned and those stones exposed in 1965, I wonder how the Pioneer Girls and Boys Club could say they thought nobody was buried there in 1967 or so? Again, I wonder why they would move stones with graves under them. Sounds to me like that would have been a good time to repair and clean stones and reattach them to bases, etc. Since this location is only a matter of blocks from the old courthouse, couldn't the local cops patrol the area for vandalism? 1965 was only 33 years ago, which most on this list remember very well. It was not some ancient time! It seems fair to say most people in Snohomish have not cared about this cemetery for a long, long time and now they want to use it for a construction site because they are "not in the cemetery business". What is wrong with this picture?
