This Anderson Line has a prolific ancestry relating to the ancient Tuttle Line of which I am a part. This Anderson family divides into 2 branches, MATT ANDERSON (Sakaria Mathis Aarness), and MINA (HANSEN) ANDERSON, both of whom emigrated to the U.S., married & settled in the State of WA. Matt's brother, Abraham (Abe) Anderson migrated & settled in MARYVILLE, WASHINGTON, all from Norway. My info which refers to the Forks Forum newspaper article includes the following info: Matt Anderson's burial ceremony was held at the Forks Congregational Church. Rev. Hugh Cantelon of Port Angeles performed the service; burial followed at the Forks cemetery under the direction of Forks Mortuary. (For anyone concerned with this possible tie, details of the service, who participated in it is given - available for a possible tie) Obit Infor: Matt Anderson b. in Lyngdal, Norway Nov. 7, 1887- he passed away Aug 21st in a local hospital (year not given, but 1951 as he lived 64 yrs. Matt Anderson came to the U.S. from Norway at the age of 16, settling at Marysville, WA. where he worked on a farm several yrs, and later worked in the logging industry for Stimson Logging Co., then located near Marysville. On Aug 23, 1913 (recall he was b. 1887!) he married Mina Hanson which lasted nearly 39 yrs. They had 3 dau. & a son. 1917 the Andersons moved to Sekiu where Anderson was employed by the Bloedel-Donovan Logging Co., as a brakeman. He continued his with the same company moving to Beaver in 1925. 1928 the Anderson built their home at Forks where they resided until his death. His work spanned 20 yrs. as brakemen. A reward for his service to Bloedel-Donovan he was rewarded with a gift from the Company for his service, 20 acres of land near the Calawah River. When Bloedel sold to Raynonier Incorporated, Matt Anderson continued with the company as before until his health began to fail. At this point in time, Anderson changed poritions with the Company and operated a loading donkey. He was a member of Forks IOOF Lodge, West End Sportsmen's Club, CIO Woodworkers Union; baptized in the Lutheran Church; a fisherman, hunter. Surviving relatives beside his wife Mina, 3 dau. Mrs. Edna Tuttle of Waldport, Pregon, Mrs. Minnie Eversman of LaPush and Miss Eleanor Anderson of Seattle; one son, Arthur G. Anderson of Foprks; one bro and three sisters in Norway & 5 grand-children in Forks and Waldport. - - - 30 - - - I discovered this Info while looking through my Tuttle info which I acquired from a cousin, Brian Lewellyn Young, who passed away at the age of 80, a master genealogist. The info is from Genealogically Record of Gerald L. Tuttle A Descendant of William and Elizabeth Tuttle, Prepared by Mr. Gerald L. Tuttle October 28, 1991. Since my ancestral great grandmother Hannah Tuttle, a grand daughter of William & Eliz. Tuttle. Hannah Tuttle married Samuel Clark, my direct Line. Since I stumbled upon this bit of fairly Local tie to the Tuttle side of my Clark Fam, I decided to post this just to see what could come of it. I tried to subscribe to WACLALLAM List but the Post Office tells me there is none, so perhaps someone among those who read PSRoots or WASNOHOM might click among the Andersons out there. Andersons, like Clarks and Smiths are like needles in haystacks but I have found a lot of needles among those haystacks by playing Clues a bit. And what's kind of interesting there's some history behind the surname(s) which adds to the Fun. (Do U remember when you were taught that starting a sentence with "And" is a No!No!- I do ! ) Carroll in Snohomish (who should proofread his stuff, but obviously hasn't ) [email protected] &
