With the kind encouragement of an experienced researcher, I finally made it to the Seattle Public Library to do some research. In a 4 volume set of deed abstracts from Maryland I found this entry: 29 Apr 1726, Archibald and Jane Edmonston, carpenter, of Prince Georges County, Maryland, to Daniel Scott, of Baltimore County, Maryland, 11,000 pounds of tobacco, 400 acres..part of 1,000 acres...Winters Run...patented by Col. Neniand Beale, father of said Jane Edmonston. There's my proof of Jane's parentage! Here's an even better one: 1718 Archibald and Jane Edmonston, carpenter, of Prince Georges County, Maryland to Jacob Bull of Baltimore County, Maryland 6,000 pounds of tobacco, 199 acres..head of Bush River. This one really tickles me, because Archibald and Jane (BEALE) EDMONSTON are my direct ancestors - and Jacob BULL is my husband's direct ancestor! Diane Hettrick [email protected]
