SGS Computer IG about "Genealogy Database Software" on 6/9/2001 The Computer Interest Group of the Seattle Genealogical Society (SGS) offers its "annual" presentation of the basics of genealogical database software. If you are wondering what software to choose, or considering changing your software package for storing and publishing your research findings, please plan to attend. If you know someone in this situation, please invite them to join us. John Wise will give brief demonstrations of Family Tree Maker, Legacy and The Master Genealogist (TMG) following a brief commentary on the general types of genealogy database programs. NOTE CHANGE OF MEETING LOCATION!!! We will meet Saturday, June 9th, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Broadview branch of the Seattle Public Library, located at 12755 Greenwood Avenue North in Seattle. It is situated on the southwest corner of Greenwood Ave. N. and N. 130th St., just a few blocks west of Aurora Ave. N. On the Number 5 bus line. Auto drivers please park on the street to leave the parking lot for library patrons. As time permits we will discuss the upcoming Heritage Festival on July 7-8th at Marymoor Park, in Redmond, and call for volunteers to help demonstrate genealogy research on the Internet in the special SGS computer room. This is a great opportunity to share our expertise with others, spread the word about family research, and let them know how SGS and the Computer Interest Group can assist. The SGS Computer Interest Group is the first established computer genealogy group in the US (January 1981) and second in the world (one in Sweden was first).
