I don't know if this will help you any, but here is the King County tax info link: http://webapp.metrokc.gov/KCTaxinfo/ You need the parcel number; I'm not sure if you may have that in some old records or not. But in Pierce county, a search like this will tell you the year the house was built, and in some cases the past several owners and what each paid. But it depends on how long ago the transaction was, too, as I think they only entered the most recent 30 or so years.
