    1. Introduction
    2. Thank you to Cyndi for the welcome and request for introduction - I am Karin Morey, Oregon City, Oregon. One of my Great-grandfathers was Augustus BALCH, nephew of Lafeyette BALCH of Steilacoom. Another Great-grandfather was Stephen Duley RUDDELL, of Chambers Prairie (now Lacey), Thurston County, WA. I have made several trips recently to Lacey, haven't made it to Steilacoom yet. I've also been up to the Tacoma Library and used their wonderful genealogy library for a day. Glad to be part of the list. K

    1. Wolf in Washington
    2. Greetings! I am searching for information on a great uncle who moved to Washington State and contact was subsequently lost. Fritz Rudolph Wolf b. 8 Jan 1891 Bell County, TX d. ? Son of William (Wilhelm) Wolf (1844-1938) and Louise Margarethe Barbe Wolf (1858-1891) who emigrated from Germany circa 1883. Louise died less than a month after his birth. Family tradition has it that he worked for the railroad and my own mother remembers my gr-grandmother and her sisters getting letters from him during or slightly after WWII from Walla Walla, WA. A letter from his wife in the late 1940's is written from Tacoma where she (Martha) refers to him as Ralph. [This may be his version of an Americanization of his name due to the anti- German sentiment of the decade. His younger brothers did the same.] She indicates a daughter, Margaret, and a son, James. Per the letter, Margaret is said to be married and living in the area with her husband, and they own a family paper business. James is said to be living in Sacramento, CA, and is the father of a five-yr-old son. Other family tradition indicates that Margaret could have been born about 1915-1917. As I am in Texas, my ability to physically search is limited. I've tried the SSDeath Index, what WA census rolls I can scrounge up. He is not listed with the rest of his family in TX in 1920, but if he is railroad, he could be anywhere from TX to WA. Any information or leads is greatly appreciated!! This is the only one of the 11 children we can't account for. Thank you!! Stacy Stacy Flood flood689@aol.com

    1. Progress update!
    2. Hi everyone! Chris and I just wanted to let everyone know that our websites have been moved up to our new domain names! Our sites are being generously hosted by a business partner of mine. We have three domains. One for Chris' project - Chris' List of Political and Government Links. One for our Archive - Echoes of the Past Archive. And one for our "umbrella" company The Webber Group. The domains for Chris' List and the Archives will only host those two projects. The Webber Group domain will host all of our other pet projects. This is a project of love and will be worked on constantly. I seem to get a site the way I like it and then find new things to do with it and rebuild the whole site!! Don't know if I will ever be happy with them! We are also working on the compatability issue between Internet Explorer and Netscape browsers. In a nutshell, the way websites are created, they will not be viewed the same in the two browsers. I am working on making all of our sites compatible to both. Here are the addresses: http://www.webbergroup.com http://www.echoesarchive.com http://www.chrislist.com The Webber Group's home page is a link to our other sites. If you go to that page, you can get to all the others. Thanks! 3. Earl - My father's uncle died at Western State before it was a mental institution. When he passed away, it was a place where TB patients were treated. When I wanted to complete his death records, I called the hospital and was told that I would have to get a court order to receive any information. I went to the county vital stats office and got his death certificate for $13.00 and no court hassle! Mary Ellen Forsberg Tacoma, WA
