    3. This may be more of what you're looking for, although I couldn't get the search records to come up; it may be too early in the day. http://www.metrokc.gov/recelec/records/default.htm Hope that helps. 3. I don't know if this will help you any, but here is the King County tax info link: http://webapp.metrokc.gov/KCTaxinfo/ You need the parcel number; I'm not sure if you may have that in some old records or not. But in Pierce county, a search like this will tell you the year the house was built, and in some cases the past several owners and what each paid. But it depends on how long ago the transaction was, too, as I think they only entered the most recent 30 or so years. Anyway, this may not be of any help to you, but thought I'd pass it along in case it is. 1. HQRL October Presentations?
    2. Can someone tell me the starting time and length of the two Saturday classes presented by the HQRL during their Family History Month? An earlier notice from HQRL states that the two classes are given in the morning. Are they given in parallel, or series, and at what times? 2. Chic Hogan owned several grocery stores in Pierce county and I think had a son named Wayne Y. Hogan who graduated from Stadium High School in Tacoma in 1951 in my class. There was also a Chester Hogan and I can't remember if Chic was his nickname or a brother. The grocery stores may have been owned by both of them. I think it was called Hogan Bros. and later became part of the IGA chain of groceries. Wayne hasn't attended the recent reunions so I don't have any current info on him. 1. 27Yr Legacy of Area Tribes-Bill Black:
    2. Carroll Clark
    3. If you like to read persons who accomplish; about them as collectors; about them as coming to the aid of another with genealogy, you will enjoy reading this lengthy article that encoompasses this and then some! This Story of Bill Black, and the Legacy he has handed down to the People in this part of our life spectrum is a story of dedication and trust that was built out of leadership and love which he built upon. The story encompasses our vast Puget Sound region Bellingham to Puyallup, specifically but far beyond. Born as an Okanogan Indian, Black became a federal employee with the BIA or Bureau of Indian Affairs (at one time under the War Department). He had the knack of dealing with problems among various tribes. It is no wonder that he had 27 wonderful years of BIA service, and was BIA superintendent! Bill Black had planned at least another 3 yrs of service, but at age 53, is losing his singing voice, and his multi-talented hobbies are being affected he has had to retire. He relys on oxygen tanks these days. His wife, Patty met Bill at Everett CC. Read about them as collectors, read about the genealogy they accomplished to help a lady. Read about Bill's accomplishments: Ref The HERALD, Everett WA Date: Mon Oct 15, 2001 http://heraldnet.com/search/ Page(s) A1, A6 Main Section, Headline Title: A man for all tribes Once distrusted by Indians he served, BIA superintendent Bill Black retires with appreciation for 27 years of service to area tribes. Author: Theresa Goffredo, Herald Writer COMMENT: A lengthy article, well worth reading about a man of compassion who is multi-talented via his perspective of this world, his many pastimes, including provision of genealogical help to lady of 70 to find her family roots. Another story of great compassion, and dedication, which is now being challenged by his health, but Bill and Patty will work through it all with their Love devotion to People. 3. Be sure to read this article about Helma Wolgemuth, 102, whose story began life as a Finnish desc. Her story began at Silverton, near Monte Cristo, a turn of the former century in the Cascades and weaves a fantastic Story and Legacy that is a joy and inspiration to read. A self made individual, Helma came thru the ranks of Life, facing obstacles and turned them into dedication and successes! If you like to read about inspiration, then this is an article for you. Her Legacy made good use of Puget Sound and Snohomish Co. place names. Helma's physical life ceased Oct 4, 2001 at age 102, but her mental life lives on among those whom she touched. You will be touched by her life when you read the following article: Ref The HERALD, Everett WA Date: Fri Oct 12, 2001 Page(s) Local Section p. B6 http://heraldnet.com/search/ Article: Snohomish County pioneer, 102, dies Author of this article not given. COMMENT: Surnames Wolgemuth, Helma's married name;Jackson (Helma's maiden name). Helma lost her mother at age 12; her father fell ill with T.B. (tuberculosis of the lungs) tho he was a mountain man. She rode the Interurban (the famous, historic RR transportation system that never should have "died" in our area !) Seattle - Snohomish, WA where she visited her father confined to a TB sanitarium in Snohomish. (I can readily relate to that place - it was call Aldercrest San., as I spent 2.5 yrs. myself confined in that same place until 1947 when I was able to return to my home in Snohomish on 2nd St.); however, Helma's father died after 6 mos. at Aldercrest; Helma was just a teen. To read the rest of the story, find this fascinating account in the Herald archive articles ref'd above. Carroll in Snohomish * * * 30 * * *
