Hi Stefan - My 4x g.grandfather was Marquard Ludvig von Printzen and he was born in 1736 in Kobenhavn - his father was Friderich Wilhelm von Printzen and his mother was Susanna Elisabeth Clavel de Letang. He had an older brother called Heinrich Wilhelm who was born in 1734 - I found his name, along with that of Friedrich Wilhelm, in the Danish Naval History lists. My main problem is with Hjob/Hiob - I found his military records and he was in Boynenburgs regiment (I think that's what it says) in 1690. I am pretty sure that he is related to the same family as the other Marquard Ludvig Freiherr von Printzen - they both have the same famiy crest for one thing and the names seem to trickle down through the family - right down to my 2x g.grandfather who was also a Marquard Ludvig von Printzen. We still have the wax seal used by earlier generations of the family - an owl sitting on a branch. To be honest, I hadn't picked up on the death of a Marquard Ludvig buried in 1735 at Garnisons, so must look. I do know that Hjob was buried inside Garnisons church but I thought that was in 1740. I also feel that it must have been a rather substantial funeral as there was a large payment for the service - much higher than for any other individuals in church records around that time. On Hjob's Danish military records it says 'Pommersk og Brandenburgst Adellegt' or something like that - the writing is hard to read but someone told me that it means that he is from a noble family from Brandenburg. I really would like to establish his parenthood if at all possible. Thanks for taking an interest. I have found Marquard Ludvig von Printzen who was burried in 1735 in Kobenhavn (Garnison). Is this a relative of your family ? If your answer is "yes" there should have been any connection to Marquard Ludwig von Printzen (born in 1675, died in 1725) who was a minister of the duke of Mark Brandenburg since the name Marquard Ludwig von Printzen is really not common. This Marquard Ludwig von Printzen could have been the brother of your ancestor (born in 1677). Maybe your ancestor Hiob went to his home in 1707 when his brother Marquard Ludwig married. I didn't find any biographical information of Marquard Ludwig von Printzen online, such as parents, birthplace, etc., but I guess this is the family you are looking for.
