Doreen, Two more things struck me after I finished my last email. As I understand your email the family was originally from Germany, then moved to England, and Oscar Dietrich was moving back to Germany, is that correct? Do you know where in Germany the family came from before settling in England? Have you looked at the records of the church they attended in England? I'm not aware of customs in England, but here in the U.S. sometimes a notation will appear indicating when a family left and where they were going to. I've also seen this in German church records.
