This is puzzling. I can't recall ever having access to Baltimore records via castlegarden.org. I've always had to search ancestry.com or ancestrylibrary.com for Baltimore records. I thought that the Castle garden site was set up only for arrivals in New York prior to 1892, whereas ellisisland.org handles New York arrivals from 1892 onward? I can find no online reference to Castle Garden having the Baltimore arrivals. Best, Debra MacLaughlan-Dumes http://sakionline.net/familypage
Actually my ancestors, Albert Fromke and his family, are listed in the CastleGarden.org database. When I searched the actual microfilm, I could not find them in the New York records. But they were in the Baltimore records, despite disembarking at Castle Garden. The ship's ultimate destination was Baltimore.
