It used to be that you could find an entry and click on it, and then you could click to see the image full size (not a thumbnail). More and more, the thumbnail has a kind of bar across it, and you have to pay to see it. But there's no rhyme or reason to it. Most images at FamilySearch remain free. It is the ones provided by outsiders, such as Ancestry, that cost money to download, unless one goes to a Family History Center.
