    2. Sue, The name "Farenwaldt" may not be spelled correctly. I do not find it in my old German town indexes but perhaps someone else can identify this place for you. There were quite a few places called "Damrow," so it will be necessary to establish which is the right place of origin for the ancestor. There was one located in Brandenburg province and several in Pomerania. In two instances, there were old and new towns called "Alt Damrow" etc. I can suggest a place you might start looking, however, in case you cannot learn more definite information about these places through family documents, etc. Going out on a limb, it might be that Farenwaldt is actually "Freienwalde" in Kreis Saatzig, Pomerania. There aren't very many places with "walde" in the name and the first part of the names sound rather similar. There was a Damrow (actually Alt Damrow and Neu Damrow) in Kreis Saatzig, Pomerania, Prussia and this place was not far from the Freienwalde mentioned above. As you said the couple was married in Germany, it seems likely that the places you are looking for will be close together -- such as Damrow and Freienwalde. You may also want to check the prevalence of the two family surnames in the FHL's IGI to see if the names appear in or around Kreis Saatzig in Pomerania. Or, see what microfilms are available for Damrow and Freienwalde and start your search there for family events. Karen B.
