Dear Listers: I'm attempting to obtain information re the arrival of my great grandfather in the United States. As you have generously helped others, may I be so bold to ask for this favor. Johann Teske (sometimes listed as "Jeske" or "Feske") was born March 13, 1834 in Paris, Bessarabia. His wife was born August 28, 1836; she was Elisabeth nee Kelm. Some of their children who arrived with them were Gottfried, 16; Samuel, 13, and Daniel, 11. Johann was 52 years of age, Elisabeth was 50. Johann's obituary, written by my father, states that the family arrived in New York on May 5, 1885, although my grandfather Samuel's Naturalization record states that he immigrated to the USA "on or about 1886." I'd like to learn the name of the port of embarkation and the ship on which they traveled. Thanks for considering. Herb Teske
