Chuck and Grace: To quote Horst A. Reschke in his booklet "German Military Records as Genealogical Sources": "The entire inventory of records for the Prussian army was housed in the Heeresarchiv at Potsdam. In 1945, during the battle of Berlin and environs, these records were almost completely destroyed by fire. A few records survived the war by being stored for safekeeping in locations less affected by bombing and combat." Mr. Reschke does not cite where these few surviving records can be located except for the military church records and which, I believe, are available on LDS film. There may also "Ranglisten" films which concern only officers.
