Searching for any information on Johannes Heinrich Martin Richter (or any name variation thereof), born Sept. 24, 1884 in either Germany or South Africa. Johannes/John immigrated to the US abt. 1900. In 1910 he married my grandmother, Lena Weichel, in Plymouth, Ma. By 1929 he had disappeared, never to be heard from again. Supposedly, John's parents names were Ernst E.E. Richter and Marie Perrie (Germany). He had a sister, Johanna Schonherr, who was still living in Germany in 1952. His two other siblings ( 1 brother, 1 sister) were deceased. Apparently, they were living in the Leipzig, Germany/Erzgebirge Mountain area. John was missing two fingers on his left hand as a result of an accident at the Plymouth Cordage Company where he worked before 1929. It is suspected he changed his name when he "disappeared", but the missing fingers would be an identifying mark. If anyone has any information on either John or his family in Germany, I would greatly appreciate it. -Kat-
