Hi from Bon in South Florida. After 25+ years of research, I finally got something other than "Prussia" for my KREMPEL family. Problem is, I'm not sure where the town is, and would appreciate any help. The family always gave Prussia as the place of birth. It was very consistent throughout the census records and naturalization record. According to a death record, the place of birth is listed as Mayence. Was there a Mayence in Prussia, if so, where? I Googled, and found it was another name for Mainz and I think there was also one near Frankfort, but both were in the wrong states. Thanks for any help. In case anyone is searching, my KREMPEL family is as follows: Francis Jacob KREMPEL. Born Nov 23 1810, Mayence. Wife Anna Mary b Jan 17 1815. Prussia. 6 daughters born in the U.S. Francis had a brother, Wilhelm (married to Catharine). He was born approximately 1807. Bonz
