I am researching the families of Philippson and Bachstein (my husband's gr-grandparents). Adolph Philippson married in 1872 at London, England to Sophia Johanna Backstein (she was his second wife). Adolph was born circa 1832 at Vietz, Pomerania (now Witnica, Poland) and his parents were Wulff Philippson and Hannah Sondel. Sophia was born circa 1850 at Stettin, Pomerania (now Szczecin, Poland) and her parents were Alexander Bachstein and Franciska. She was confirmed at St Jakob's Church, Stettin in 1864 by the preacher Steinmetz. Any background information on these two families would be appreciated. Margaret Philippson, Australia. --
