    3. I have noticed some e-mails about naturalization questions & wanted to share my experience - My GGG-gr&father, John Henry Schick came from Germany in the 1830s - My dad wrote a long time ago to the courthouse in Allegheny County, PA & was told all they had was one record, that being his oath of intention, so I requested the microfilm of the court docket through LDS on microfilm & checked it myself - there were 2, one for oath of intention, the other for the naturalization. Finding the naturalization petition (not everybody did one) was no trick either - I had to go through 5 rolls of microfilm screen by screen & it was on the last roll - these are in no date order & the dates bounce back & forth. Also, I thought I had his ship he came over on, but when I got a copy of the ship manifest, the only Schick on there was G. Schick (not John Henry), so I have the naturalization, but not the right ship yet - Also be sure to search for online library catalogues in your state or nearby - check local as well as college libraries - I found one 1.5 hours away that has the Swiss Emigration Book & there are only 2 libraries in Oklahoma that have it - remember to try several variations on first/last names for searching - good luck & happy hunting!
