This is just a shot in the dark, but I went to high school (in the fifties!) with a Janet Scheidemantel. She lived in Zelienople, Pennsylvania (not too far from Pittsburgh), and I'm sure many of her relatives are still in that area. I wonder if there might still be Scheidemantel's in the Zelienople phone book. I've spent most of my life in Texas and haven't seen Janet for many decades.
