    3. Thank you very much for all your help George. Delores -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Georgia Kramer-Hinske Sent: Friday, July 24, 2009 9:17 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [PRUSSIA-ROOTS] PRUSSIA-ROOTS Digest, Vol 4, Issue 151 Delores Brown, LDS Library has mircofilm copies of these church records. You can have a copy sent to your local Family History Center for you to go and view and print out a copy of the record. The cost is usually around $5.50-6.00 per film. Evangelische Kirche Groß Dübsow (Kr. Stolp) Film# 559843 has birth records for 1831-1864 Film#559844 has birth records for 1864-1925 Film #559845 has birth records for 1925-1945 AND marriage records for 1831-1945 Check the website www.familysearch.org to find the Center nearest you and where to call to request the films. The index lists Max Heinrich Johann Varsbotter b. 20 Apr 1871, christening 07 May 1871 with father: Rudolf Theodor Varsbotter mother: Auguste Lawrenz The copy of this record would be on film #559844 It may also list the father or mothers hometown, ages, godparents their hometown, other siblings and their ages, etc. It may also list August's birth even if its not listed in the index. If his parents are from the same hometown, the marriage records may list their marriage, parents names, their ages at time of marriage, witnesses, and their place of birth. If after, looking at these records you do not find August and want his birth record specifically, you can check the neighboring parishes of Lupow and Budow. Here is a Google map link so you can see where this town is located. http://maps.google.com/?q=54.37,+17.28+(GrossD%22ubsow)&hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=54.365158,17.30278&spn=0.095212,0.233459&z=12 Its now known as: Dobieszewo, Poland, just 19 miles SE of Slupsk. Congrats on finding a town name and I hope this helps. Happy Hunting!
