Hi Robyn, I wish you much success when German learning ;-) It is right: All informations of this site are in German and the english speakers of this mailing list can´t understand the explanations. But I think the following is also helpful for english speakers: After entering the name of a village you get a list of suggestions, which village you could mean. The names of the suggested villages are in blue. When you decide for one village, the next site shows you on the right side a little map. Under this map you find 4 links: Google Earth, Google Maps, Map Quest and MultiMap. I select always Google Maps. When you click on "Google Maps" you can see, where the village is. You can zoom very near, you can see, which towns and villages are in the neighbourhood. That is possible also for the historical name of your village.
