Virginia, I would agree with the others that the place probably is Soltau. My parents were married in a village just outside of Soltau after WWII. Eickmann may be spelled Eichmann. I'm wondering if someone could help me with a variation of Eickmann, and where would Soltrum be in the in the 1850s?
