My Great-Grandfather, Emile Louis Bruno Clement, was born in Muskau in 1844 - he was the son of a Muskau official called Emile Alexander Clement (who was born around 1793) - He arrived in England prior to 1870, by which time he had a PhD (and was known as "Doctor" Clement) - the first mention of him was in the 1871 UK Census, when he was an Assistant Master at Bramham College, Bramham, Yorks (Wetherby - Boston) - Aged 26. Does anyone have any details whatsoever about his life prior to his arrival in the UK, including any information about his birth - and about Muskau itself during the period 1844-1870? John Clement
