    1. [PRUSSIA-ROOTS] RUST surname - ? Prussia

    3. Hi I am new to Prussian research and am looking for any information on Charles Francis Augustus Ferdinand Rust (anglicized) born c 1834. parents listed as Karl Franz Rust , (supposedly surgeon general to Napoleon) and Dorothea Sudas - names from his marriage certificate in Australia. Karls father was also meant to have been a surgeon in the army. He was a strange man and moved around frequently. He changed him name often, and is buried under John Rust. I only found him when I found the wife dead. He was a 4th year medical student and was meant to go into the army, but did not want to do this and escaped supposedly in a wine barrel. (Family letter gives these details, unsure how much is fact). Charles was a chemist in Victoria. Any suggestions gratefully received. regards Lyn Baker Australia
