Also AFN-C9j( or 1) BNG their is no explanation were they came from unless it was from his fathers Frederick Golembiewski marriage? Father was Samuel and mother Gotheibe Charolota no maiden name listed and never came to the USA Was their a war that he was in be for 1884? for he did not come with the family. He had to wait till he was 21. The last name has been spelled different ways by people but I had a man from Germany whose daughter lives near us and he said that it was the old German way and translated it into English and that is how we new the spelling was changed to Golemgeske. But people still spell it different. Any help would be appreciated. Jan Golemgeske Pace

    3. Jan 1985665 is microfilm number from the LDS catalogue < http://www.familysearch.org/eng/library/fhlcatalog/supermainframeset.asp?display=titledetails&titleno=468401&disp=Official+temple+record+for+deceased+indi &columns=*,0,0 > As you can see from the above link (make sure you copy and paste it, complete with the 0,0 at the end into your browser), it refers to Mormon Temple Records. These are not original primary source records, but they do indicate that someone in the recent past who is a member of the Latter Day Saints has done some research. You're lucky that the LDS have microfilmed some of the original records for Osterode < http://www.familysearch.org/eng/library/fhlcatalog/supermainframeset.asp?display=localitydetails&subject=42479&subject_disp=Germany%2C+Preu%26%23xdf%3Ben%2C+Ostpreu%26%23xdf%3Ben%2C+Osterode&columns=*,0,0 > These microfilms can be ordered into your local LDS Family History Library for a nominal fee to cover postage where you can read them. The records will be in German (naturally), and in the old script. The LDS web site has both a German Lexicon < http://www.familysearch.org/eng/Search/Rg/frameset_rg.asp?Dest=G1&Aid=&Gid=&Lid=&Sid=&Did=&Juris1=&Event=&Year=&Gloss=&Sub=&Tab=&Entry=&Guide=WLGerman.ASP > as well as a guide to the old script < http://www.familysearch.org/eng/Search/Rg/frameset_rg.asp?Dest=G1&Aid=&Gid=&Lid=&Sid=&Did=&Juris1=&Event=&Year=&Gloss=&Sub=&Tab=&Entry=&Guide=German_Gothic99-36316.ASP > David Armstrong Maylands, Western Australia ----- Original Message ----- From: Jan Pace To: prussia-roots@rootsweb.com Sent: Wednesday, August 24, 2011 10:48 PM Subject: [PRUSSIA-ROOTS] Birth Record My Grandfather Ludwig Golembiewski (now Golemgeske) was born in Osterode East Prussia and immigrated in 1884 from Wittingswalde Prov.
