I just ran all the names thru my extensive program, but came up empty handed. Keep plugging away at it - I've had other researchers (very distant relatives) answer my mail list & message board posts 3-4 years after the post, so I'm a real believer in the lists & posts. ok, Judy Petersen, that's a really good point. thank you!! I've been reading everyone else's posts and not really done any inquiries of my own, so here goes!! I've hit some roadblocks so maybe I can connect with someone who is researching the same names. Not all my ancestors are in the Pommeranian area and there are many that I have no clue where they're from, but I'm going to list all surnames anyway in case someone recognizes something. All of my ancestors came from *Poland* to Detroit and lived, worked, and died there. FRONTCZAK OWCZAREK - possibly from Kaleske, Poland, or somewhere listed as Mielkowice related to PASTUSZKA and ADAMUS FUERST and WROSCH with parents listed as being born in Danzig (Gdansk), but in another document from Plock ENDERT, married to Fuerst LANGA - with a city that looks like Brozin, Germany KOWALSKI - listed as coming from Germany, but later listed as Russia SCHULTZ - married to Kowalski above KSIAZKIEWICZ - which did get a hit on the Poznan Project and I am waiting for info wife of above name, KRAJENKE, but her second marriage was to BUKOWSKI TOMASZEWSKI and GAWSKI (sp?) from Szczutowo, Poland in the Gorsk district, but not sure where that is. STEFANSKI from Bratkowice with American relations to AMBROZY MROZOWSKI from Warsaw (Bratkowice) SOBIESKI from Warsaw So, do I have any relatives out there searching for the same ancestors??? You're so right, Judy! I have my names posted on WorldConnect, and have a website with my family info. I've made lots of contacts -- but only one on this branch. -- Mona Houser HeritageHunt@Sandyviewinfo.net Our Family -- http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~monajo/ Nahausen Families – http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~monajo/nah/ My Database – http://wc.rootsweb.com/~monahouser Buffalo County NEGenWeb --www.rootsweb.com/~nebuffal/
Judy Petersen ----- I am searching for the record of BERNHARD HAACK and Family, from or near Koeslin , Pommern . They emigrated in the year of 1872 , AND ARRIVED in New York City on 11 May 1872 The BERNHARD HAACK was born on 01 Nov. 1840 , and I do not know the exact town that was born at , however the area of Koszalin Pommern is the town that They came from , in the records of the (GTA) "Germans To America books" However it may be that Koszalin is just the town that They applied for an emigration permit. BERNHARD HAACK's wife was BERTHA ALBERTINA DEVONSKE/DAMESCHKE. They had children , FRANZISKA born about 1866 , ADOLPH born about 1869 , and RICHARD born in 1871 . If You know of where I could find the emigration record , then the emigration record may record what city or area that They lived at before the emigration. Please reply Sincerely Karl Roussin St. Clair Missouri , U.S.A. email kroussin@moisp.net. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Original Message ----- From: "judy petersen" <skigranny@gmail.com> To: <prussia-roots@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, October 11, 2011 9:20 PM Subject: Re: [PRUSSIA-ROOTS] Koeslin research I just ran all the names thru my extensive program, but came up empty handed.
