Hi Everyone: My 4th great grandfather was Johann Dieno born about 1784 according to Karl Stump's book The Early Immigration from Germany to Russia in the Years 1763-1862 the Dieno's were from somewhere in Schlesien (Silesia). He would have immigrated to Russia in the very early 1800's from Schlesien (Silesia). Has anyone researching in Schlesien (Silesia) ever seen the Dieno surname??? I have no idea where in Schlesien (Silesia) he was from??? His death record in the German Russian Lutheran records does not give a birth place!!! I know Dieno looks more Italian spelled Dino than German. Kind of think the Dieno's lived in the heel of the boot in Italy and was a Germanic family that took on the Dieno surname. I know my Dieno's were German and not Italian for sure. Hopefully someone can help. Thankyou Brian
