This is what I know: My great-grandfather Bernhard Julius Theodor KITTEL was born 15 Oct 1855 at Storkow and was baptized at Evangelical Church in Gramenz, Neu Stettin, Pommern. His parents were Carl Gottlob Ferdinand KITTEL and Ernestine Christine Maria Sophia Bohn/Bohm. They had their 4 eldest children baptized at the church in Barwalde and were living in Valm from 1839-47 and after that were at Storkow and the church in Gramenz. Bernhard's grandfather may have been Freidrick Kittel who died 27 Oct 1850 at Storkow born in 1773. Sometime before the birth of Bernhard's first childin 1882, he married Alvine SCHEUNEMANN, born about 1850. I am not certain of the correct spelling of the Scheunemann family name. She and Bernhard her husband and their less that a1 yr old son immigrated to St. Paul, Minnesota in 1882-3. Alvine may have had a brother Henry and she definetly had two sisters who immigrated to St. Paul in the late 1870's. They were Henriette born about 1839 who married John Wilhelm KUMROW and sister Ulricke born about Oct 1845 who married in 1876 Gottfred SCHERDIN. I would like to know more of this SCHEUNEMANN family and where they lived and also where earlier generations of the KITTELS lived and who they were. I will write what I know of Bernhard Julius Theodor Kittel's military service from a translation given me from the surviving orginal military papers. PFC Kittel served from 3 Nov 1876 - 17 Feb 1877 in 2nd Company of Garde de Corps when he was discharged into the reserves in Feldgastein. On 5 Nov 1878 he was transferred into 3rd Regiment of Pommern and 8 Oct promoted to "Gefreiter" and on 15 June 1881was dischargedinto reserves in office of Cortin, County Colberg. Perhaps from this it may give a clue as to where he met his wife Alvine....perhaps she lived in Colberg??? I would greatly appreciated any assistance on this puzzle. Thanks, Dewey Roach (my mother was a Kittel) ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to PRUSSIA-ROOTS-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

    3. Hi, Surname Keywords: Regal, Schwartz, Gumpert, Gumpertz, Gumperz, Hamler, Hammler, Seehaber Riegel, Regel, Regall, Rigel, Margel, Margell, Swartz Drew, Drews. I am researching the following families and individuals. GOTTLIEB JOHN REGAL, b Jan 1838, in Posen. Parents are supposed to be Jacob and Rose REGAL of Posen. This person is my main line of research. Alias: Gottlieb John Regal, Gottlieb Johann Regal, Johann Gottlieb Regal. Gottfred REGAL, b Apr, 1836, Prussia, brother of Gottlieb. Alias: Godfred W. Regal. Friederich Wilhelm REGAL, b Jan, 1840, Prussia. Where's Dronzonek? Married Anna Caroline DREWS in 1864. These surnames might be alias surnames to avoid being found. REGAL is a very rare name. Gottlieb was supposed to be raised in Posen, parents died, he was orphaned, passed around to relatives, and then immigrated to the US in about 1865-1870. Other immigrants to the US in the time periods of 1850 to 1890: Karl MARGEL1843. Justienne Christine SEEHABER HAMLER 1798. Johann SCHWARTZ of Okolla near Crone on the Brada (River) 1809. Augusta Emilie GUMPERT of Vandsberg / Vansberg, 1854. Anna Caroline FIEDLER, born Prussia, lady in waiting (?), born 1839. I am trying to determine the church where records of Gottlieb would be found in Posen. But is that the city or Province? Thank you for any help you can provide. Beaurega

Adolph was born circa 1832 at Vietz, Pomerania (now Witnica, Poland) and his parents were Wulff Philippson and Hannah Sondel. Sophia was born circa 1850 at Stettin, Pomerania (now Szczecin, Poland) and her parents were Alexander Bachstein and Franciska. She was confirmed at St Jakob's Church, Stettin in 1864 by the preacher Steinmetz. Any background information on these two families would be appreciated. Margaret Philippson, Australia. --

    3. Hello, I have posted before about my G.G.G. grandparents Wilhelm and Maria Catharina Reinhard. I have gotten some info from the Immigrant Genealogical Society in California, they have checked the Emigrants from the Duchy of Nassau book and have found "Wilh. Reinhard, master carpenter and family, Dillingburg 16.3.1852 A. THey have told me this means they were from Dillingburg heading to America on March 16,1852. It doesn't state the name of the ship or amything else....Is there a site just for Dillingburg? Or someone that this list knows that works with families from Dillingburg? I have no other info to give at this point and I think finding them in Dillingburg will get me started again with this family. I see by the map they sent me that this is the upper northern region of Nassau at that time...thank you for all of your help! Sandy --------------------------------- Looking for earth-friendly autos? Mine were from Rutzenhagen. Anyway, it may be a place to start. Mine settled in Eland, WI. In Poland, it's west central Poland now. Good luck. 1. [PRUSSIA-ROOTS] Google-maps und Familienforschung
    2. Reinhard J. Freytag
