    2. Pat, If the map is in German, look for Klappau. If the map is in Polish, look for Chlapau. This place is located along the coast of Danziger Bucht (Bay)/Zatoka Gdanska near city of Danzig/Gdansk and north of town of Putzig/Puck. Karen B. Whitmer

    3. You can get a free "print screen" program from download.com, I think. The one I have will allow you to capture any portion of the map that you want to print. I am thinking about taking the image to a print shop that does blueprints to make hardcopies, I love maps. > > Why would you want less detail in a smaller scale map? The map you ultimately download from the final choice page is a JPEG image so it's not resizable in your browser unless you know how to create an HTML web page. That would only display it smaller (which may be all you want) - the actual JPEG image would be the exact same physical dimensions and file size as you download. To get a physically smaller scale, you would have to save the image to your computer, open it in some photo editing software, and resize it using that. Then, save it with a different name from the original. Why would you want less detail in a smaller scale map? Most genealogists cry for more detail and larger scale. Good luck, LGO

    3. Elaine...Albertina came to the US in 1885, her sister Agnes in 1886, and a brother Ed also immigrated. I've no information on him. They had other sibilings, because my grandmother would write to them in East Germany. My grandmother died, and all I have is a few pictures, with "their sister" written in the back. I think that Albertina's mother was a Bedhum (no first name known). ----- Original Message ----- From: "Elaine O'Neill" <elaineoneill1948@gmail.com> To: <prussia-roots@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, January 14, 2007 6:56 PM Subject: Re: [PRUSSIA-ROOTS] German/Polish Town Names > Judy, > > I have a Tiefke in my line.
