Hi- I'm new to the list. I'm looking for proof/documentation that John Prewitt, Rev. War pensioner from Tazewell Co., Va was my gggg grandfather. John was b. abt 1755, lived in Montgomery Co., VA and later it became Tazewell Co. Married Sarah ?. Parents were probably Henry and Lorene/Louranette Pruitt of Montgomery Co. John's children may have included: Henry, b. abt 1780, m. Martha Milam John Jr., b. abt 1782, m. Polly McBroom Benjamin, b. abt 1785, m. Mary Maloney Joseph, b. abt 1780-90, M. Susannah Clevinger *Reuben, b. abt 1796, m. Nancy Vandike Sally/Sarah, b. abt 1798, m. Henry Stump Moses, b. abt 1800, m. Jane Wingo My ggg grandfather, Reuben Pruitt, married in Tazewell, moved to Buchanan Co., VA and was there in 1860 census. His children ended up in Wayne Co, WV, Lawrence Co., and finally, Greenup Co, KY. There are a lot of Pruitts in the SW Virginia area, and I'm trying to sort out who belonged to which one. Too many Johns, Williams, Henrys, etc. Anyone with any info- please help! Thanks, Cindy Spencer
