~0730 ct 19 Dec 97 ct Hi Linda The past few years I attended an annual reunion of the Boucher, Brite, Cagle, Hewlett, Mann, Moody, Morris, Pruitt, Schooling, Spilman, Woods and Wormington families who were pioneers in Lawrence Co, MO. (I subscribe to mailing lists about these families.) Since 1934 these families have been meeting in Sep at Monett, MO. From this year's meeting I borrowed some books to search my lines in the Boucher, Moody, Spilman and Woods families. Guess what! The loaner happened to include a Pruitt family book which appears to be a good source for your search and which may be interesting to other subscribers. Below is an extract from Ch 1, pg 64: "...The will of SAMUEL PRUITT, Sr. was written 3 January 1760 and proved on 29 Apr 1760... son SAMUEL PRUITT, Jr. ... two daughters ... Sarah PRUITT who married a Mr BOYLSTON Priscilla PRUITT b. 1721 m. William DUVALL ..." Some other info Dr. Pruett published are: Samuel Jr was born 1705, and Priscilla was born 1721. (From these birth years, he derived Samuel Sr's birth year as ca 1684.) Elizabeth HAWKER was the daughter of Robert and Amy (SELBY) HAWKER, and Amy SELBY was the daughter of William and Mary SELBY. Elizabeth survived Samuel Sr and married John RIDDLE who was a widower with a large family. Both lived nearly 100 years.
