Hi everyone, I am researching the Andrew Fields Pruitt (sometimes spelled Prewitt) family of Texas. They were on the 1850 Census of Rusk County: Pruett, Fields 32 M W Bricklayer IL Pruett, Mary Ann 26 F W AL Pruett, James 9 M W MO Pruett, John 6 M W TX Pruett, William 3 M W TX Pruett, Sarah E. 6/12 F W TX This "Fields" Pruitt was the son of Fields Pruitt of Bond County, Illinois. He married Mary Ann "Polly" Stone in (probably) Barry County, Missouri about 1839 and moved to Texas about 1843. Where was this family in 1860? They possibly ended up in Freestone County.
