The book of Richard A. Prewitt that I have is "Isham Prewitt & Frances Maddox" and I looked at it but did not find any James Pruitts in Scotland County in Missouri. Of course, Richard has written about 7 books and he might be in one of the other ones. I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help.
