    3. Deb, I have in my notes on Sir name Prewit-Pruet of varied spellings, in the War of 1812. Two are listed in Ga. 1.Samuel Prewit; 4th Regt. Jones Ga. Mil. 2.Solomon Prewet; 3ed Regt. Huckaby's Regt. Wimberley's Ga. Mil. (Two others Soloman's are listed in Il. and S.C.) Only Samuel found listed in Ga.Hence, Is your's of the right age in 1812 for this service? A possible. I have notes and names, no known connection to my Jacob Pruet b c1760 Va. d. 1830 Alabama. who md. 12 Mar. 1786 Nancy Agnes Ritchey. He the son of William b c 1725 Fincastle, Va. and wife Mary Martin.. The first census 1790, there were approx. 323 Prewitt's living in America. William Privet and his son, John Privet, were among the early settlers of North Carolina (Bristol to America, p.93), and were the ancestors of a long line of Privit's in North Carolina.(note spelling) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kroll" <notredame@alltel.net> To: <PRUITT-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, July 03, 2000 8:31 AM Subject: Re: [PRUITT-L] Samuel Pruitt, Jr./Limestone Settlement > Marci, > Thanks again.
