My direct descendant is John PRUETT you mention b. 1785 d. 1842 in Barbour Co. He married Louisa FEAGIN, daughter of Samuel FEAGIN. Joshua was born in 1802 in Elbert, County Georgia. He married Elizabeth Means on December 21, 1826. Elizabeth was born in 1802. Joshua died November, 1871 and Elizabeth died May 26, 1856. Their children were: Francis Pruitt, William M. Pruitt, Mary E. Pruitt, Martha A. Pruitt, and Henry T. Pruitt. This name on gravestones I have found at Providence cemetery was originally spelled Prewitt.
