    3. Jacob Preut died in Walker Co. Alabama 14 May 1845, and is buried in New Prospect Church Cem, near Haleyville, Alabama. He lived prior in Greene Co. TN. He married Nancy Richey in Green Co. Tenn. 12 Mar. 1786. Jacob's father, William Pruit Sr. died in Madison Co. Al. 1817. His Will was probated Oct. 1817. His wife had died before the Will. Jacob moved from (1818) Madison Co. after his father died to Lawrence Co.Al. Jacob owned land in Lawrence Co. (They both moved in 1807, from Knox Co. Tenn to Madison Co. Alabama) Searching in Tenn. ....the county and State lines changed while they lived in Tenn. Where they lived in Tenn.was once Mississippi even. County lines changed as the state split and made new counties. They didn't move, the County changed lines. It is said William SR was the of the first settlers in Tenn. Perhaps you could find info on those county changes in a Red Book.
