Jacob's father is William Pruitt Sr. b 1714 Va. who married Mary Martin Jacob Pruet b. 1761 N.C. died in Walker Co. Al. on 14 May 1845, and was buried in New Prospect Church Cem. near Haleyville Al. Jacob had prior lived in Green Co. TN. where he married his wife Nancy Agnes Ritchey in Green Co. 12 March 1786, they also lived in Knox Co. TN. By 1818 Jacob had moved to Lawrence Co. Al. and settled on the Byler Road, about 20 miles from Moulton, Al. In c.1824, Jacob moved to Walker Co. Al. A historical marker is at Haleyville.
