Family stories persist that our direct Pruitt line first lived in Colonial Virginia ( don't know where they came from or when ) but first documented in Kentucky, then in Texas, then in Oklahoma, then without father Henry Pruitt in Arkansas. I have school pictures of the children in Oklahoma. If your research from Virginia takes you to any of the states I mentioned, let me know and I will dig out mom's book and provide the names and dates for you.     3. My John E. Pruitt was born July 9, 1869 in Danville, VA. He died June 9, 1949. He was still in Danville in 1910 as I found him on the 1910 census. I have no idea who his parents, grandparents, etc... were, and I have no idea where my Pruitt's came from before America (or when they came).
