I am new to the list. For years I have been looking for the ancestors of John PRUITT/PREWITT who filed a will in Barren Co, KY in July of 1818. The will names a wife Sarah and children George, John, Sarah and Elizabeth. I am descended from George, b abt 1796, who married Permelia Houk. He and his mother, Sarah, appear on tax rolls in Hart Co, KY for several years following. And George is in Metcalfe Co, Ky census until 1860 with a birthplace of VA.
