I don't have the ancestors of John but I believe this to be the Francis Marion who is the son of John. Francis Marion Prewitt's daughter, Sallie, was my husband's grandmother. The spelling is both ways among this family. I used this spelling for Francis Marion because that is what's on his tombstone. 1. I am new to the list, and wonder if anyone can help me. I am looking for any information on The parents of Georgiana or Georgan Pruitt b. March 13, 1870 in Hardin Co. Tenn. She Married James Brooks June 23 1889 in Mcnariy Tenn. Died March 11, 1925 in Plainview Ark. Now what gets confusing to me is that her husband put her Father as George Marshall on her death certificate. and her mother as Margaret (no maiden name) Everything else I have found shows her as Pruitt. The only other thing I know is that she had a brother named Jim Pruitt. And that there may have been Cherokee Indian in the family. Any information anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Margaret, I have Nancy being born in Ireland her father as William Ritchie, no dates. I descend from William Madison Pruitt who md. 1.Sally Cavett,2. Martha Patsy Loney I also have some copy on Jacob out of the Alabama History, one being his burial site. A cousin took copy while visiting the area. She did not know to look for history on William Ritchie at the time. That could prove to be interesting data. Sorry, I don't know where William Ritche is buried, I also would like to find that data. It is my understanding the Ritchie family were well to do in Ireland, perhaps of Blue Blood. More research is needed. Of which of the John Hellums children is your line? Keep in touch. Pruitt who was the dau of Frank? Reynolds. they were from Tx. Around Van Alstyne. Leitha Cannon was my husband's grandmother. I have been in contact with DeLayne who is definately related to Rosa B. Pruitt. We are currently comparing names. The Kings and Reynolds and Pruitts are burried in Tx. My husband and I (Jack) (Anna) are children of Jerry Cannon whose wife was Leitha, and mother was Rosa B. Pruitt. We have Horace Cannon's photo album and notes about Rosa Pruitt. Somewhere in a trunk is census records,etc. Have birth certificate for Horace, born in Coal Co. OK. He must have been there just during the birth because Jerry and Leitha were living in Dallas. Around Sherman or Dennison. I believe They are all burried in a cemetary near or in Van Alstyne. I will have more after we make a phone call to the living aunts, Evelyn and Judy. She is the daughter of James J Pruett and Rachell. I have been unable to find any thing other than family notes to connect Rachell to James J. but in the 1850 census records of Brazos county I find Catherine in the home of Hilling King who has a wife named Rachell. The 1860 census of Leon Co.,Tx list to Pruett children in the H.King & Rachell family. Also Marriage records of Brazos Co.,Tx. show Rachell Pruett marriage to Hillman King. All of that to say I think Rachell?? married James J. Pruett then he died and she married Hillman King. I would like to hear more from you. What is your connection?

The nearest we might make connection is thru the Pruitts because, Soloman who was Rev war soldier came to Cumberland Co Ky. (Burkesville) early 1800's he had a son named Ephruim/Ephraim born abt 1780's who married Laraina who said she was born in Georgia she states this on a 1850 census but some say could be VA or Ga or Pa on census. I believe by the Pruitt travels that they married or if she was Indian as some believe, then her beautiful name could have been something like la rain ee I think it was Georgie and I have pictures of 2 of her daughters (can you receive email attachments, ?? let me send you the daughters pictures and see if you can see a resembleance. Larainia married by 1810 prob. Also on the Bond side, do you know any of the male Bond line of the Bond sisters. please give me the names. My Bonds were James C. b/1830/32 John B. b/1834 Elzie/Elgia Bond b/1837/39. claimed to be born in Cumberland Co. Ky.or Clinton Co. no known parents, James d/ OK, 1811, John D/ Christian Co /Hopkins Co Ky 1918 Elzie d/ 1921 Logan Co. Ky. on the Keen side James Bond m/ Kessiah/Kizzie Keen daug of John and Sally Keen John was son of Nickolos Keen who came to Cumbeland Co from NC. they had male Frances naming patern in this Keen family. On the Riddle side my Elzie Bond m/ Laraine Jane Riddle who was dau of James Madison Riddle and sarah Pruitt (dau of Ephraim/Larainia) J.M. Riddle was son of Joseph and Rhoda Monk Riddle, Joseph was son of william the tory and Happy Rodgers Roberts Riddle. The other connection to Pruitts is that John B. Bond m/ caroline Pruitt youngest daugter of ephruim/Larainia. So Elzie was m/ to their grandaughter and his brother John was m/ to the youngest daughter of Pruitts. Of course everybody kept naming Larania/ Rhoda/ and Hilpa/ Happy. so easy Riddle and Pruitt family to follow. Hope to hear on pictures. Lois
