    2. Clark Sinclair
    3. I was wondering about Andrew Jackson Pruitt b Jan 1850 m Clemmine SINCLAIR... and wanted to know if wife' s maiden name was SINCLAIR as Luther SINCLAIR b Jan 1886 listed as step son on 1900 Trinity Co TX census. I think Andrew and Clemmine m 28 Feb 1888 Trinity Co TX and children of Andrew and Clemmine were: Willie W, Elmo M, Lewis and John H. Andrew MAY have m first to Mollie (SINCLAIR?) and had Fronia, William A, Andrew J, Jennie, James W (Jim) and Callie O. a Elvira Pruitt, niece b 1878 TX was on the 1880 census.......was Luther a son of of Andrew' s first marriage and were Mollie and Clemmine related? Andrew appears to be son of Elijah Pruitt and Sarah Eaves. Both MOLLIE and CLEMMINE were reported on the 1880 and 1900 census, respectively as being born in Texas. Another question....Elijah Pruitt had a brother John...one of John's dau m James R Pettigrew and John's son, James m Rebecca Lucy Broughton.....Does anyone know about these particular spouses? Clark Sinclair

    2. Shelley R. Woodson
    3. Happy Holidays, I have some new information and am wondering if anyone has any information about the following PRUITTs: T. N. PRIUETT, b. 1858 in MS. I believe he is the son of Ben PRIUETT, b. 1826 (son of Thomas J. PRUETT and Sarah ESTES). T. N. married Julia DUNCAN in 1881. He appears to be related to William W. PRUITT and Wylie P. PRUITT, who are brothers. Some have thought William W. (Bud) PRUITT to be the son of Ben PRIUETT, but I'm not certain this is true. Sometimes this family name is transcribed by mistake as PRIVETT or PREVETT. Related to this family is Ray PRIUETT, b. 1884 who married Tamie MILLER. Thanks in advance! Shelley -- Shelley R. 2. Roger, I have traced the Pruitts back to Thomas Pruitt born 1616 in England. The Vaughn name appears frequently, usually as a middle or first name. I've only been researching for about a year and it all became so overwhelming that I decided to concentrate on those that are direct ancestors of my mother. I hope someday to get to the other information I've collected. Juanita

Obviously William A. Pruett was paid either for Military Service or he sold something to the Government most likely Military. Perhaps he raised horses that he sold to the Military or something like that????? That would be my guess. The Civil War was form (1861-1865). This court case was in Aug of 1866. I would say that beings it was at the end of the Civil War that he was made take the Confederate money under Military Power. Which at that time Confederate money had lost its value. So they were taking this matter to court.......... That would be my opinion. Feel free to give your opinion on this matter. 3. Marci, I have been wondering about the Confererate Money. 3. Thank you for sharing your information. Interesting to see the old county records isn't it. Slaves were of high value than, and also being from her father's estate was a factor. The money thing, I don't understand, do you. I also see (Richard A. who married) Lucy Ann Coker, she is in the 1880 census with children listed from age 1 through 13, Richard is not listed. He must have died in the last year..?? She (Lucy) is in vol. 35, Ed 256 Sheet 22, line 19 Dist 16.
