Rolland Fitzroy Pruitt was born Feb 1884 in Tenn (maybe) mother's name was Lydia Huff from Va. Have no idea of father's name...... Family story goes that there was 13 children parents died and children given to be raised by friends or family. I have been looking for Rolland Fitzroy Pruitt for over 30 years and have found nothing. This is my grandfather...... We know that in 1913 he was in Jewell Kansas when he got Felda Mae Brock p.g.She was a schoolteacher in the area and father was a large farmer we think maybe Rolland called ROY was helping on the farm and we haven't been able to find a marriage for them but our great grandmother *Felda's mom" wrote September 1913. A son was born in Oct 1913.....twin daughters came in 1917 in Jewell, Kansas and a daughter in 1919 in Kansas City, Missouri. Rolland Fitzroy Pruitt and Felda Mae Brock lived thru out the years together and had the three girls. In 1930's the moved from K.C. to Lebanon, Missouri. Rolland Fitzroy & Felda Mae Pruitt are buried at the Lebanon Cemetery, LEbanon, Missouri. Any help with this name ROLLAND FITZROY PRUIT and father's name and all of his brothers/sister would be a great help. I call this my brick wall. Can someone help me ! Thanks Diane

He had lots of children. Here are their names: Blanche, Hannah, Thomas J., David Jerome, Mary F., George Hillman, Emma, Willis H., Lewis Crittendon, Arnet Lonzo, Eli, Levi, Clark, James W., Solomon Palmer, Shadrach Jr., Cassa Bianca, Rosette A. Do you have dates and places they were born-lived that would help finding which they were. These are common names there fore more input would help. Hello listers! :) I am just starting my Pruett (and all the various spellings) research. Does anyone know how the various spellings developed? Are they different families or did it come from census takers and clerks spelling it differently? I am looking for information on Mariah Pruett born 1842/1845 in Missouri. She married Stanford Elledge on 2 Dec 1861, Atchison, Missouri. Her marriage record was obtained from a book by (ack! I've lost the author's name) ; Prewitt marriages Salt Lake Family History/Genealogy Library 929.273 p929pr p.114 Stanford's last name is recorded as ELLIOT, the source from the Prewitt marriage book lists Atchison County Marriage records Book A p. 17. which the library didn't have a copy of at the time. In the 1860 Iowa census I find a Mariah Preutt age 15 born MO, living with a Jonathan and Mary Bridges. Does anyone know anything about these people? Is this the same Mariah? In 1870 Iowa census my Mariah is living with her husband and children and her bp is listed as ILL. In the 1920 CA census her son Ernest G. Elledge lists her birthplace as MO. My 2nd Great Grandmother was Malinda Prewitt Hyden born in Whitley Co, KY in 1845. Yesterday I received her death certificate. She died 1921 in Clark Co, IN. She was married to George Rice Hyden ca 1868? Her parents were John Prewitt and Martha McKiddy. She was listed, with John Prewitt on the 1850 census of Whitley Co, KY along with sibs, Mary 11, Jemima 9 and Julia? 5. Martha McKiddy Prewitt wasn't listed. John's mother Jemima is also in the household. By 1860 John may have died as the children are then listed again in Whitley Co but in other households. Malinda was in the house of James Maine and Jemima was in the household of John Lawson. John Prewitt was born ca 1804 and was the son of David Prewitt and Jemima ?
