I am looking for the descendants of Otis Claude Pruitt or Pruett who married Gay Maupin, in TX. Gay Maupin was the daughter of Charles H.Maupin and Eudora Jane Gates , and they were married inTX around 1920. I believe this couple had two children: Otis Claude Pruitt and James Rex Pruitt. Thanks, Barb Gothie in Baltimore

My name is Jane Reed and I'm searching for my grandmother's family. All the info that follows came from my deceased aunt's notes. She was born Nannie Prewitt - October 25/26, 1881 in Hughes Springs, Texas. Her father was George Washington Prewitt II, her mother was Enola Bandy ( thanks to a fellow researcher I was able to go into a site called angelfire and find as promised both GW Prewitts ) The big problem is, however, that Enola Bandy is not listed as GW's wife, and I could find no Bandys on any of the Pruett/Pruitt/Prewitt sites. Is there anyone who has heard of the Bandy/Prewitt names together? Nannie's grandfather was George Washington Prewitt I, and his wife was Caroline Hughes or Sarah Caroline Hughes (as I found on the angelfire site) She had brothers (from Scotland??, landed in Virginia??) Reece Hughes, Robert Hughes and ? Hughes Nannie's brothers and sisters are: Alice Prewitt (m. Walton Barber) Hosea Prewitt (m. May Roberts) Roy Prewitt (m. Ollie???) George Prewitt (m. Rose ???) Caroline (carrie) Prewitt (m. Alex Whitworth) Nannie's mother Enola Bandy had one sister Mary Alice who married Charles Turner - children?? Pink Turner, and Enis, Beulah? Olin Turner, "Notie" Turner (m. Seymour Weiss) Nannie's BANDY grandparents Pink Bandy (from S. Carolina) and Nannie Beecham (from Georgia) I have been searching a lot for any of these pieces that might fit together, so if anyone can clue me into a place/source/site that connects, I would be very appreciative. http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~donkelly/pruitt/pruitt.htm URL to one of my pages has a photograph of the Pruitt kids at Habbit School near Ardmore, OK I think about 1923. We don't know if Grandfather Melvin Henry Pruitt had a brother nearby, but he evidently had siblings living in West Texas somewhere. he was married in West Texas and we think he took the family to Oklahoma for construction work. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Julie Alleman" <juliealleman@yahoo.com> To: <PRUITT-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, May 07, 2001 7:38 AM Subject: Re: [PRUITT] John Milton Pruitt > My Pruitts were from the Pruitt City/Ardmore group. > Hit the "Pruitt" link here: > http://www.kindredclans.com > > ~Julie > > --- Donkelly <donkelly@grovenet.net> wrote: > > My mother Gladys Pruitt came from Ardmore, OK. Debbie, The sound of Milton Pruitt makes me think that your line may be kin the the Pruitts here in Duncan. There was a James Milton Pruitt Married Chandler and raised a large family in Itasca Texas where I came from. Some of this family moved to Oklahoma, some to Duncan and then there are some who live around Pruitt City OKlahoma and Ardmore. My line goes from William and Judith Dudley Pruitt to Ransom Pruitt Sr, to Willis Pruitt to Rubin Willis Pruitt, my grandfather, to my father A. Fred Pruitt. They came from Alabama and TN near the southern border north of Huntsville. don't know if any of this helps, but thought would pass it on. Freddy
My mother Gladys Pruitt came from Ardmore, OK. Her father was Henry Pruitt from west TX. He was killed in a construction accident ( brick wall collapsed on him) and sometime after that the family moved to NW AR. Mom an uncle named Milton Beebe who with grandma Beebe Pruitt ( her mother)were born in MO. It is said our Pruitt line came from Lancaster, KY, but I have seen no documentation of that fact outside of mom's favorite book which I have. I'll have to check with my sister Marie, but it is curious that my grandmother Beebe married a Henry Pruitt in Texas and raised her family in Oklahoma, and her brother's name was Milton Beebe. Now the name Milton I only see once in a coons age. Only thing more I know is that these Pruitts were in Kentucky before Texas.
