Thank you for posting the 1870 Dent Co. census. The Jacob and Nancy (Morrisett) Pruitt listed are one of my road blocks. Previously had them in Greene Co. Mo in 1850 and Christian Co., Mo. in 1876. Kaye
Kaye Saw the two messages about the Jacob/Nancy Pruitt family on the Pruitt mail list. You may have problems with this family. I have in my files that Cassinda was born about 1854 and now the 1870 census show about 1867 - a 13 year difference. Also is the female S E in the 1870 the same person as Sarah Ellen. If so then I have Sarah Ellen born about 1852 and the 1870 has born about 1867 - a 15 year difference. Suggest that you research this a little more unless you have more information on these girls now than you did before (such as marriage dates, death date, obit). Thanks for the descendancy chart on James Lindsay Pruitt which I received a week or so ago. I hope you will put me on your list to also receive a more detailed chart showing birth and death dates when you get your new program. I appreciate your pointing out my duplication of Sarah Frazier and Ellen Evans. Have made that correction in my records. In regard to Mary Woods and your being unable to find out anything about her, I have notes (not the original) showing a Catherine Weeds 80 yrs old living with Thomas 47 and Mary 42. This was probably Mary's mother. Weeds instead of Woods. I have never tried to research this further myself. You might find something on the Weeds back in TN or VA. Last year, I corresponded with Charles A. Francis who lives in St. Clair Co., MO. I quote from his letter, _______ As for Uncle Linze, seems that in his later years the family decided to move from the home place to a house across the road from where Donnie Smith now lives. Uncle Linze made the move but didn't adjust to the different place and became depressed. One Sunday when the family went to church he decided to stay home. On returning from church, the folks found him hanging in the barn. My mother said that my Grandad cut him down. Richard Hall

Thank you so much for the GA marriages. I don't know who they all are yet but I am sure they are related some way. But it will give me something to work with. I noticed you have Pruett on your list, are you from this same line? Hello Everyone, I have brand new PRUITT information. I'm posting to see if anyone recognizes my family. My ancestor is William (Willis or Bud) W. PRUITT, b. 1857 in TN. He died around 1934 in Dyer Co., TN. (I have been unable to locate a burial place.) It has been thought that he was the son of Ben PRUITT and Eathea SUMMERS, but that appears incorrect. William appears to be the son of Unknown PRUITT, b. in NC. and Missouri Unknown, b. 1827 in TN. Unknown PRUITT appears to have married a second time to Ruey A. Unknown, b. 1836 in KY? I first find this family in 1870, in Obion Co., TN. In 1880, William is in Weakley Co., TN with his first wife Amanda Unknown STEELE and son Joseph PRUITT. 1891-1910 he is in Dyer Co., TN. He married second, Amanda E. FISHER (my line), and third, Martha Ann FISHER. William's siblings are: Nancy, 1845 Thomas A., 1850 Edward E., 1852, m. Mary W. Unknown Rollo J., 1855 Susan A., 1861, m. J.J. SLAUGHTER John R., 1863, m. Tennie BARNETT? Wylie P., m. Lydia (Liddie) E. SMITH Martha A. (Telie, Tela), 1868, m. J.J. SLAUGHTER Brother or cousin: T.N. PRUITT, m. Julia DUNCAN I will be squinting at more census discs which just arrived in the mail as I was writing this! Thanks for any help! Shelley -- Shelley R. Woodson shelley.r.woodson@ttu.edu
Looking for any Pruett/Pruitt descendants of: William T. (Tate?) Burton married June 11, 1827 Monroe Co. GA to Mary Pruett. Just found Mary's last name not long ago so I have nothing on the Pruett/Pruitt line. So I am hoping to find another line of ancestors/descendants. Thanks, Thelma
I personally would supply the facts writing with proof) and explain that the proof I found does not match the family legend. times our memories fail, and sometimes documentation is wrong. You won't you are dealing with after they are PR

I am a descendant of Samuel Pruitt (1684-1760) & Elizabeth Hawker. How can I obtain this book? Tillman Dixon Pruitt (1801-1847) is a descendant of Samuel Pruitt, Married Dianna Hillsman Farrar who is a descendant of Judith Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson's aunt. I am a descendant of that marriage. Does anyone tie into this family. Holice Pruett
