Kristi: I would love to learn more about the Rabe family from Rosemount, MN. I am not from that particular line, but grew up in Rosemount, MN and did not know any other Rabe's from the area. My Rabe line came from Mankato via Nicollet, MN originally from Dupage county, IL. I am wondering if our Rabe lines converge at some point. I would be glad to share my line with you.
I thought the same thing -- must be French Protestant, particularly with a marriage to a DuCray, but it's not the case. It appears that the common ancestor was Thomas Prewitt from Salisbury, England. I checked records from Wiltshire and found Prewitt, Prewit, Pruit, Pruitt, Pruet, Pruett and Prowet all the way back to the 1200s. As far as I know Grandfather Pruitt was English??? I know the Taylor's were English. Mothers Williamson grandfathers ancestors were from Holland and maybe Germany as they are so near to each other. When in Europe it is hard to find the line. Marie > Donkelly wrote: > > My mom said she thought her father Pruitt was German or part German.

Good time to ask a question of all our listers. My mom said she thought her father Pruitt was German or part German. Now I see quite a few who evidently came from England, and a couple even from Ireland. Has anyone found incontrovertibly that Pruitt is an English name, therefore, most came from England? Searching for the parents of Lottie Lincoln Pruitt, b. 20 Dec 1863 in Mercer Co. MO. m. John Henry Aydelotte in 14 Oct 1878. d. 15 Jul 1944 in Grant Co, Oregon She had at least one daughter; Mary Alice Aydelotte in 1889, in Crant Co, Oregon who married Charles N. My grandfather Stinson Carroll Pruitt spent a lot of time with the Blackfoot, I was told this by my mother, Eula Nadine Pruitt Gore. She has relaid many tales of my grandfathers when we were growing up. My Grandfather's parents were James William "Jim" Pruitt and Rachel Elizabeth "Lizzie" Ramsey. I am new to family research and I have been unable to find who my ggrandfathers parent were. Jim was born October 29, 1855, in Georgia (I have not been able to locate him on a census yet) and died Oct. 19, 1916, Foulk, Arkansas. I know that the family traveled alot in the ARK, TX, and OK area. Does this sound familar to anyone on the Pruitt listserv. I would like to thank all in advance. Not sure, but geographically speaking, Cherokee and Creek seems more likely. I believe the Blackfeet Indians were a western tribe, thousands of miles from VA, NC, GA, etc., etc. Any relative thoughts anyone.
